Here are a few clips of underwater video that I've filmed over the years. More videos coming soon!

I've moved all of the videos to YouTube, so they should load faster over slower connections. The links will take you to youtube. Click on the back button to come back to this page. I’m working on embedding the videos so they load on this page, but apparently I’m not smart enough to do that.

Video I.  A video compilation created during several years of research in North Carolina. <

Video II.  Filmed during September 2006. I surveyed my study site for about an hour and didn't see any hellbenders. Finally, I put on the mask and wetsuit and went underwater. As soon as I got underwater I found 7 adult hellbenders near a nest rock.

Video III.  This was a breeding group of hellbenders I filmed during September 2004, just as Hurricane Francis was making its way into North Carolina. 10 hellbenders had already entered this nest rock, and as more males tried to enter, this gravid female (female with eggs) was pushed out. She eventually made her way back under the rock and deposited several hundred eggs.
